I'm receiving a token error message when using PayPal express

For PayPal Express to work correctly on the One Page Checkout there are two specific requirements.

NOTE: #1 does not apply when a customer uses the PayPal button on the cart page.

1. The PayPal payment option must be manually selected by a customer to generate the token. For this to occur you can disable the One Page Checkout option to auto-select the first Payment method so a customer must manually select this.

OR

In the X-Cart admin -> Administration -> Payment methods section set the PayPal Pos. to be displayed in at least the 2nd position.

2. Enable General Settings -> One Page Checkout -> Automatically submit PayPal Express orders when the customer is returned to the cart:
