This is caused by the On Sale files being updated, but not the database. Open the file INSTRUCTIONS if upgrading from version 1.17 or earlier.txt. in the On Sale zip distribution. At the bottom there are a number of SQL patches. Insert these one at a time into your patch/upgrade -> SQL Queries section in the X-Cart admin. Some SQL queries may fail. This is normal.
