How does Remember Anonymous Carts for X-Cart work?

When a user adds an item to their cart for the first time, Remember Anonymous Cart creates a special cartid for them. The cartid is written to a cookie which is stored on the user’s computer, and the x-cart database saves the users shopping cart contents using that cartid. When the potential customer returns to your store, the cookie is read and the shopping cart contents are restored from the database. Since cookies exist on the user’s computer for long periods of time (default with this mod is 6 months), the user can return even much later and still retain their cart contents. | |
