Solution"Call to undefined function: gzinflate() in /home/path/store/admin/mm_index.php on line 1"

Is a server issue causing the error, your server is missing the standard php compile install of zlib. Please ask your host/webmaster/server admin to recompile PHP with the zlib library set to on, this comes with all current php distributions and is simply a compile switch when php is installed.

It's simply a case of recompiling and installing php with the "--with-zlib" configuration option set along with the options you originally set.

For more information, please refer to this page: http://www.php.net/zlib

http://www.apachetoolbox.com/ is a very handy page to help you configure your servers.

Php installed with zlib is virtually always in place on any commercial host these days as many php scripts use it to uncompress files/create gz files. I'm guessing you're most likely on a dedicated server otherwise your host/server admin would have installed it by now as it's very rare to find it missing.

You should find it works fine once php has been set up properly.

SolutionSeveral factors can effect major changes in the way Marketing Manager reports / customer searches work:

Order statuses:
------------------------------------------
Marketing Manager only scans orders within a certain status range. This prevents fraud, canceled, declined, and incomplete orders from being included with your numbers. You can see which order statues are included on the main page in Marketing Manager by examining the "Orders to scan during searching and reporting" field. The default setting is CBP (Completed, Backordered, Processed orders).

You can change this setting by editing the $_scan_orders variable in your xcart/admin/mm_files/mm_config.php file. Possible statuses include:

* I - Not finished
* Q - Queued
* P - Processed
* B - Backordered
* D - Declined
* F - Failed
* C - Complete

Date differences
------------------------------------------
X-cart stores the dates in the database as the database server's default timezone, and uses adjusts the order dates/times displayed later with the time offset setting. Marketing Manager queries the database directly and doesn't use the timezone offset.

For the newsletter sender to suddenly stop working is normally a result of something changing on the server:

Please take a look through the following to troubleshoot:

1. Your host has automatically changed any .pl permissions means that the CHMOD permissions on mm_files/mm_mail.pl has been changed, please check that this is 0755. We also recommend you ask your host if anything has been done to your account or server recently.

2. Your mm_files/ folder permissions have been changed, please make sure this is set to 0777 as MM must be able to write to the folders

3. Your host has changed the number of emails you can send out per hour and is automatically killing the process in which case you need to alter the mailing speed of Marketing Manager by changing the mm_files/mm_mail.pl. Again please ask your host if any restrictions are in place.

4. Your web developer has changed folders/copied folders/uploaded backup files without taking into account file permissions

5. Your host may have changed the location of Send Mail or settings in send mail. In this case you can swith to using the PHP mailer which can be done by opening mm_files/mm_config.php in a code editor and changing the relevent highlighted lines.

6. Your host may throttle e-mails per hour or e-mails per day, please contact them about these limits. Once you know the limits, please submit a ticket to us for further assistance.

7. Your from address is formatted incorrectly. Some characters like apostrophes and commas can cause problems when sending mail. If your company name has these, please put quotes around the company name, like so:

"My Company's Site, Inc" <admin@mycompany.com>

8. Your from address isn't from the same domain as your shop domain. As a spam preventative measure, many hosts won't send e-mail with a from address that's different from the site's main domain name.

9. You're using a windows-based host. In this case, you can edit xcart/admin/mm_files/mm_config.php and set $_use_php_mailer = true; to switch to a different mailing engine.

If the above do not put you on the right track and you require us to preform a re-installation for you this can be ordered from our installations category on firetanksoftware.com where we will re-install all the software and ensure it is operating as it should.

SolutionIf your newsletters and targeted e-mails end up in your customers' spam folders, you may want to check the following:

* You should send both a plain text and HTML version, this will give the spam filter more text to examine to determine if you're sending a legitimate message.

* Make sure the plain text body and the HTML body have identical content. If you're sending a mixed message, you may trip the spam filter.

* You should have a higher amount of text than HTML or images. Automated filters measure the amount of HTML markup and the size of images in your e-mail and may see your newsletter as image spam.

* Make sure to include an unsubscribe link. If your users can click unsubscribe, it makes it easier to not click the "report as spam" button. There is no point in having subscribers who don't wish to read your newsletter.

* Try to avoid hot spam keywords like "penny stocks" or or if you're a pharmacy, try not to advertise erectile dysfunction drugs.

* The subject line should not be all capital letters.

* If your domain get's blacklisted you may not be able to get it removed.

If you're stuck, look at some of the spam you've gotten recently and analyze your message, too. Tweak your message so you can distance yourself as far as possible from illegitimate bulk e-mail.

SolutionMarketing Manager has it's own breakout interface.

Things that won't break Marketing Manager functionality:

* Customized skin
* Third party mods from BCSE, WebsiteCM, Firetank Software
* URL rewriting schemes
* Any standard Qualiteam x-cart module / skin

Marketing Manager is a very stable product, it will operate on extremely customised x-cart sites, however some things that may break Marketing Manager functionality in rare instances are:

* Customized database structure (extra tables, extra fields)
* Altering the existing database structure in non-standard ways (non-integer order numbers, multi-character order statuses)
* Image management mods (this will affect the ebay module specifically)
* Non standard alteration to func_select_product
* Non standard alteration to func_get_image_url
* Non standard alteration to func_query

If you have any questions as to whether or not your customization will cause problems, please submit a ticket so we can investigate in more detail.

If you are concerned that Marketing Manager may not function on your website, please order it with Firetank Software professional Installation. We offer a full money back guarantee if our installation for any reason does not operate as stated.

SolutionThis confuses some clients, as the check is "for corruption" if it fails the corruption check then it means the file is fine, if it passes it means the file has been detected as corrupt.

So "Failed" is the correct display for this status check. If your Marketing Manager says Failed for this one status your marketing manager is set up correctly.

If this part says "Passed" it means your mm_file is corrupt and will not work so you should upload it again using ascii transfer.
